quick question about the ignore feature
I have a quick question. If you are ignore a person right away, how exactly do you appear "offline" to him without logging out. I like this because I don't want the person to know I ignored him. Would switching your status to offline then online work?
Thx |

When you ignore someone you automatically go offline to them without logging off or switching characters.

Yea. You should appear offline to the other person. But If he tries to PM you it'll say you are ignoring him. However, if you always apear offline, then the guys won't know to PM you.

It does not work, once you set appear online again and the ignored person sends a message, they receive the ignore message.
As long as you remain appear offline while they try to pm you, they wont know they are on your ignore list, but this would be redundant. So if you dont want to hurt their feelings, or w/e your reason is, theres no way around the ignore message except appearing offline at all times |

I've found that it'll only say "... is ignoring you" if you're on the same character. If you place them on the ignore list then change chars you'll just appear offline, and unless that person gets lucky with whispering the correct character you swapped to (which obv won't come up on their friends list) then it'll say that you are offline to them.

Friends, please... stop the nonsense! If that person made it to your ignore list, then you need to be comfortable with the consequence of them being offended that you aren't listening.
The next time someone rises to that level, try the following: 1) "Sorry dude, I can't enjoy the game with you bothering me. I'm going to put you on ignore if we can't just drop the subject right now." 2) Give them a few moments to let that sink in. 3) If they stop, all is good. If they don't, put them on ignore. This may seem mean, but you will earn more respect for being up front with people than for trying to hide from them. The most pathetic players in the game, in my opinion, are the ones that want to whisper something insulting, but purposely make it so you can't respond. (ie "Do not Disturb" or "Ignore"). |
